Introduction

Valet mode (remote start off) disables the remote start and should be used any time the vehicle is being serviced or is in a condition where it should not be started remotely.

SmartKey Starter® models that apply:

    • Enter vehicle and sit in driver seatd

    • Close driver door (make all other doors are closed as well)

    • Without your foot on the brake press the push to start button one time

    • Note: for vehicles without push button start, insert key and turn to the first position

    • Press home button on steering wheel, menu will appear (NAVI, TRIP, etc)

    • Use directional pad or arrows to highlight RADIO or AUDIO

    • Select RADIO or AUDIO

    • Instrument cluster should now show radio information on the instrument cluster

    • Make sure that radio is turned on

    • To enter the SmartKey Starter® menu, press and hold the MUTE button on the steering wheel for approximately 2 seconds

    • Instrument cluster will say REMOTE START: ON or REMOTE START: OFF

    • Release MUTE button

    • To enter valet mode (change setting to remote start: off) press and release the MUTE button until the menu says ‘REMOTE START: OFF’

    • If the remote start was already on, you will only have to press the MUTE button once

    • If the menu already says ‘REMOTE START: OFF’ you can simply wait until the screen says ‘SETTINGS SAVED’

  1. Once you have changed to the preferred setting, save the settings changes by waiting until the menu times out. When the menu has timed out, the screen will say ‘Settings Saved’

    • To be sure the system has been put in valet mode (remote start on), press the push to start button twice to turn vehicle completely off and open and close the door

    • Once vehicle is completely off, press and release the PANIC button on the OEM remote

    • Make sure the vehicle does not start (the parking lights should flash 4X, indicating the system is in valet mode
