SmartKey Starter Valet mode (Remote Start Off)
Resources for putting SmartKey Starter® remote start in valet mode (Remote Start: Off)
Valet mode (Remote Start: Off) is REQUIRED before servicing vehicle or parking vehicle in a location where it should not be automatically or remotely started. See below for instructions:
Valet mode is an important safety feature that will prevent the SmartKey Starter® from remote / auto starting the vehicle. In other words, valet mode turns the remote start off. There are different ways to put your vehicle in valet mode depending on the SKU and firmware version.
Important note when using valet mode (remote start off): After activating valet mode (remote start off) it is critical that you test the remote start using your OEM key to verify that the remote start is disabled.
The version # is located on the SmartKey Starter® module. There will be a V followed by a number. If you have questions about which SKU, part #, or version number you have, please contact Mid City Engineering by emailing sales@midcityengineering.com or calling 312-421-1114. To determine SKU based on vehicle model, click here and select the vehicle. Please note that this application chart will only tell you the current SKU.
